Important Notice Regarding U.S. Import Tariffs

Important Notice Regarding U.S. Import Tariffs

Update March 26, 2026: Tariff Invoices Are Processing

We have resumed sending out U.S. tariff invoices! We are very sorry for any delays this has caused and greatly appreciate everyone’s patience during this long wait.

Applicable U.S. orders containing ready-to-ship items stored in our warehouse will receive an invoice via email that will require you to complete the 15% tariff, along with shipping courier and processing fees.

All fees are required for all packages shipped to the United States and are to be presented to customs, as Aitai☆Kuji does not withhold the amount.

The invoice will be sent by PayPal, and upon completion, your order will be added to our queue to ship out. Our Shipping Team is working diligently to process and dispatch all orders as efficiently as possible, but please note that delays may occur due to the high volume of shipments.

Once again, we greatly appreciate everyone’s patience for U.S. tariff processing, and we will continue to work hard to ensure that the process is as seamless as possible.

For questions or concerns, please contact our Support Team via our Contact Form.

Update February 25th, 2026: U.S. Tariff Conditions Remains Unstable, Fedex, DHL, and UPS Options Paused for now

Due to ongoing changes in U.S. tariff policies, we are temporarily holding shipments for customers who have prepaid the 15% tariff for customs clearance and for orders with a value of over 13,000yen or more that have yet to be invoiced.
We are currently awaiting further guidance from FedEx and DHL before proceeding.

Our team has been working hard to implement a smoother tariff collection system, but as policies continue to evolve, we must pause to ensure accuracy and avoid issues with delivery.

However, at this time, we are still shipping to the U.S. in a limited capacity while we await updates from Japan Post.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available!

Update November 21st, 2025: U.S. Tariff Invoices Slowly Being Sent Out, Fedex, DHL, and UPS Options Resume, Japan Post Continued Suspension
The U.S. tariff situation continues to impact shipping couriers; however, we have been able to slowly send out invoices for ready to ship orders. Once paid, due to backlog, your order will be shipped out within 2-3 weeks. We greatly apologize for this inconvenience. Please note that in order to accommodate customers, your shipping method may change to ensure your package can be shipped.

For orders shipped to the United States with a total value of 13,000 yen or higher, a separate Tariff & Courier Fee Invoice may be applied before the order is shipped. If applied, this invoice must be paid in full before shipment can be dispatched.

This invoice may include:

Estimated U.S. import tariff charges; and
Courier administrative or customs-processing fees.

Please note: The courier or U.S. Customs may finalize the actual tariff amount after the shipment has been processed or delivered, which can occur 1–2 months later.
If the final assessed tariff amount exceeds the initial estimate, an Additional Tariff Invoice will be issued, and customers will be responsible for paying the difference.
All tariff assessments are determined by U.S. authorities and the courier and are outside of our control. All tariffs are the responsibility of the customer to complete as Aitai☆Kuji is not held liable for incurred feesWe appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions, please contact us here .

Update October 1st, 2025: Japan Post Continued Suspension for U.S., Fedex, DHL, and UPS Options Still On Hold
Japan Post is unfortunately still not available to ship to the U.S. at this time. Regarding Express Shipping for methods such as FedEx, DHL, or UPS to the U.S., we are currently waiting for FedEx to give us the exact tariff breakdown as tariffs vary depending on the materials of the items within each customer's order.
Once we receive confirmation on the exact tariff and fee itemization, we will be sending out invoices to all customers to clear tariff customs before shipping out orders.
We greatly apologize for the huge delay in this and hope to be able to ship out items to the U.S. as soon as possible.

Until a clear resolution is determined, we will hold all customer orders in our warehouse at no extra charge. Combining existing orders into one shipment is also possible.
However, we are unable to refund customer orders as products have already been secured and are waiting in our warehouse to be shipped out as soon as we get clearance.
For any questions or concerns, please email us at [email protected]. Thank you for your understanding!

Update August 25th, 2025: Japan Post Suspension (Registered Airmail & EMS)

Japan Post has announced that they will temporarily suspend Registered Air Mail and EMS parcels to the U.S. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control and we are very sorry for this inconvenience.
Japan Post only allows for shipments if products are marked as Gifts under $100 USD in value. However, as we are a company, we cannot legally mark your item as a gift.

Registered Air Mail
If you have selected Registered Air Mail for your order, you may do one of the following:
1. Wait until the suspension is lifted, and we will ship your order once service resumes. We are unsure when this will be.
2. Upgrade to Express Shipping (FedEx, DHL, UPS), which will require an additional shipping fee plus the 15% U.S. tariff and possible courier processing fees, to be invoiced and paid in advance before your order ships out.

Express Shipping (FedEx, DHL, UPS)
If you have already chosen Express Shipping, please note the following:
The United States has introduced a 15% tariff on imported goods.
Courier companies (including FedEx) no longer allow shipments as DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid). All Express parcels must be sent as DDP (Delivered Duty Paid).
This means the tariff and any courier processing fees must be collected in advance to ensure smooth delivery. Courier Processing Fees depend on the Courier, but we will most likely ship out with FedEx.
We will provide instructions for completing this payment. If preferred, you may also request to hold your order until further notice.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration these changes may cause. These requirements are the result of U.S. government tariff regulations and Japan Post/courier policies, and are not decisions we can control.
We value your support and understanding, and we are working on the most efficient way to process the large number of orders affected. If you wish to upgrade your shipping or confirm your next steps, please contact us — we are here to assist.
Thank you for your patience and for continuing to shop with us.

August 3, 2025: Starting August 29th, 2025, the United States government signed the end of the De Minimis, and packages may be subject to a tax 15% based on reciprocal tariff rates. Further details will be announced at a later date, but it is important to note that your package may possibly incur these rates and is the responsibility of the customer to complete for delivery.

As information for the new 15% tariff for packages incoming from Japan to the U.S. is still unclear as there has been talks of each package incurring $80-$100 USD as a flat rate to receive a package, we may potentially hold packages from August 29th through the first week of September to monitor the situation. Depending on how the situation unfolds, packages paid with Registered Air Mail (EMS that goes through the USPS) may be contacted to switch to either Fedex, DHL, or UPS to avoid the flat rate of $80-$100 USD until more information becomes clear. However please be advised you will potentially be charged 15% tariff tax of the value of your package. If you would prefer us to not ship out your order until more information becomes clear, please notify us through our Contact Form immediately.

April 24, 2025: Earlier this year, the United States announced the implementation of an additional 10% tariff on all incoming packages.
However, under the current “De Minimis” exemption, packages valued under $800 USD are NOT subject to this tariff—with the exception of shipments originating from China and Hong Kong, which do not apply to us as we are located in Japan.

Please note that this new tariff policy is expected to remain in effect for approximately three months.
While many packages may not be affected due to the De Minimis threshold, there is still a possibility that some shipments may incur the 10% tariff depending on evolving trade regulations.

We kindly ask for your understanding and recommend monitoring your package value when placing orders. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us at [email protected]
Thank you for your continued support!
